It started with a design
Happy birthday, Aremu Smog
A friend shared a flyer for a podcast session he was hosting with a guest on his WhatsApp stories.
Like all beautiful things, it caught my eye, and I reached out to start a conversation.
“Beautiful flyer. Who designed it?”
The response piqued my curiosity further. It turned out to be the podcast guest himself — a designer turned developer.
I asked for his contact details, and that marked the start of a distant admiration. I reached out, supported his endeavours that resonated with me, and made sure to show up for this demi-god doing things I could only dream of.
A few months later, I landed my first UI/UX design gig. And guess who made that happen? Him! I had the privilege of working with him and witnessed firsthand his incredible work ethic, sharp eye for detail, and relentless pursuit of excellence. We’ve stayed in touch ever since, have conversations now and then, and I read his Medium stories as he reads mine.
