Is birth a curse?
Or worse?
Has it ever occurred to you that birth could be a curse? No, no, maybe worse — a damned entrance for those who have erred from another realm? Perhaps that’s why babies cry as if mourning the fate they’ve been thrust into.
Is Earth a purgatory, with its places as torture destinations, some worse than others?
Is life not the penance we’re meant to serve? Living in a loop that resets every 24 hours, until one day we’re allowed to leave, having finally atoned for our sins? Does the difficulty of our individual lives depend on the weight of our sins?
Maybe death is our victory — an acceptance into heaven. Or maybe it is the completion of a phase because I also hear of reincarnation. Oh, those fellows must have done something truly heinous in their realm considering they have to endure this more than once.
Now I ask myself, “Are the things we celebrate worth celebrating?” Flipping the narrative — “Are the things we mourn not liberating?”
