I love you, dad

--

Hey dad,
If there’s one thing your absence taught me, it’s the profound impact a father has on the lives of his kids. I hope to always be there for mine, in ways you couldn’t be for me.

I’m grateful that the childhood memories I have of you are ones of bliss — like sitting with you in the driver’s seat or accompanying you on Saturdays to fetch water for the family.

I’m also glad that people have only good things to say about you. Then again, people mostly speak well of the dead. I guess I meant to say that my memories of you are enough, and I’ll hold on to them forever.

Keep resting, champ 💪🏾🏆

Till we meet again.

I was supposed to publish this on November 19 — International Men’s Day. Better late than never, huh?
