Transformed by a blink

Unveiling the encounter that redefined my life

I had a profoundly strange encounter when I was around 12 years old (although I’m not entirely certain of my exact age at the time). I distinctly recall feeling as though my life flashed before my eyes, and for a moment, I was engulfed in complete darkness, a state of pure oblivion.

I was playing in the sand, perched on the edge of a cemented area adjacent to the sand. While I can’t recall precisely what I was doing, I suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of fatigue and, in what seemed like an instant, experienced something far beyond a mere blink. It was as if my entire life played out before me, followed by a moment of complete darkness. I didn’t feel anything during this time, but afterward, I was left feeling incredibly strange and bewildered — a sensation that has lingered with me to this day.

Confused and somewhat frightened, I hurried back indoors, desperately trying to make sense of what had just occurred. How could such an otherworldly experience result from a simple blink? This question has remained with me, haunting my thoughts over the years.

However, despite the fear and unease I felt, that day marked a turning point for me. It led me to take my life and my relationship with God more seriously. I could perhaps describe it as my personal encounter with either God or death, but regardless, that experience fundamentally altered the course of my life.

I’ve kept this encounter to myself until now.
